The audience thought a goal was coming when El Makkeb got free with Tayeb Nabil in the 30th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 32nd minute of the match Mohamed Dahar sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Nordine Mehenni skillfully saved the ball. 43 minutes into the match, Waupaca FC's goal looked a bit too open when Zīn ud-Dīn Djahnine came free, but Nordine Mehenni reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Zīn ud-Dīn Djahnine had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hocine Bouzid received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Nordine Mehenni tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.
