Russell Springs's Mehdi Bouziane played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tedj Bessou in the 20th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Said Méniri in the 23rd minute of play forced Lake Helen's goalkeeper Adalbert Bozhichkov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Russell Springs's Mehdi Bouziane played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tedj Bessou in the 30th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Ali Temmam managed to get in a good position for a shot. Russell Springs's supporters rose to their feet, but Ali Temmam was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Adalbert Bozhichkov breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 34 minutes, Rabah Guendouz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Lake Helen and the Russell Springs players grew even worse after the yellow card. Rabah Guendouz kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. In the 36th minute, Said Méniri ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Adalbert Bozhichkov was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. After a rather tough play, Russell Springs's Nordine Sadmi got a free kick in the 38th minute. After 42 played minutes Lake Helen got a freekick which was hit by Rachid Hemdani. After some careless play in the Lake Helen defense, Ali Temmam kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Adalbert Bozhichkov. The Lake Helen fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Adalbert Bozhichkov should have stopped the shot. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ali Temmam stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Tedj Bessou sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 68th match minute, Lake Helen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Abderraouf Djeziri to maneuver through the defense. Adalbert Bozhichkov was a little too slow when Nordine Sadmi got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 79th minute. The score was now 1-3. Said Méniri who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 90thth minute tested the skills of Adalbert Bozhichkov when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Said Méniri managed to get in a good position for a shot. Russell Springs's supporters rose to their feet, but Said Méniri was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Adalbert Bozhichkov breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Russell Springs's Ali Temmam got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 96th minute, Chih Hadj Aïssa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Russell Springs walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
