Mouloud Mammeri was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Ali Bouguerra showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-1 in the 40 minute of play. In the 47thth minute of the game Smail Teissier who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Newberg FC's Hemza Cixous was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Smail Teissier to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 89th minute, Newberg FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Mustapha Menad fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Mouloud Mammeri made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abdelhamid Zouba in the 93rd minute of play. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Newberg FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Golden Gate had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
