In the 17th minute Thelma Achiu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zoheir Djebbour saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Medina FC's Zoheir Djebbour played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nouredine Lacen in the 23rd minute of play. Nouredine Lacen recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Boughera Merah-Benida during the 28th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 27 minutes into the game, one of Maple Plain:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Amrani Belaout might have been able to make a better finish in the 32nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Hamid Beloufa. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Amrani Belaout ran back to his position shaking his head. Zoheir Djebbour showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nouredine Lacen, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. 41 minutes into the match, Maple Plain's goal looked a bit too open when Amrani Belaout came free, but Hamid Beloufa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hakim Bruel could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 42nd minute of the match, but Hamid Beloufa made a huge save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Khair ad-Din Cohen-Tannoudji during the 47th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 47th match minute, Medina FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Khair ad-Din Cohen-Tannoudji to maneuver through the defense. After recieving a nice pass, Maple Plain's Rachid Liegeon tried to score from far away in the 48th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nouredine Lacen was the one to do the kick off. After having played for 57 minutes, Amrani Belaout managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Medina FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Amrani Belaout was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 59th minute, Amrani Belaout made a precise shot to the right of Hamid Beloufa. Maple Plain's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. After having played for 64 minutes, Nouredine Lacen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Maple Plain's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nouredine Lacen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
