Berwick's Ahmed Hadjar proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 4th minute of the match, managed to save Berwick from getting a goal against them. 5 minutes into the game, Hamid Yacine was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Berwick's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Walpole the free kick. In the 5th minute, Hamid Yacine hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 6 minutes into the match, Cheikha Merbah had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ahmed Hadjar. Berwick's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cheikha Merbah was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Ahmed Hadjar made a fantastic save in the 12th minute, when Cheikha Merbah sent off a good shot on target. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cheikha Merbah got free with Ahmed Hadjar in the 14th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lounès Kouici in the 17th minute of play forced Walpole's goalkeeper Ferhat Kerbouche to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mounir Cherrad received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Ferhat Kerbouche tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Berwick getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. El Soltani hit a great ball. 25 minutes into the game, Cheikha Merbah cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Ahmed Hadjar was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 30th match minute, Walpole was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fawzi Bahari to maneuver through the defense. Lounès Kouici received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Ferhat Kerbouche tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Berwick getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Larbi Liegeon hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Fergani Mansouri managed to get in a good position for a shot. Walpole's supporters rose to their feet, but Fergani Mansouri was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ahmed Hadjar breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Cheikha Merbah sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tayeb Feraoun fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ahmed Hadjar having to interfere. Berwick's Mounir Cherrad got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
After 52 minutes, Tayeb Feraoun made it 3-0 with a short kick to the right side. Berwick's Ahmed Hadjar tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After some careless play in the Berwick defense, Cheikha Merbah kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ahmed Hadjar. The Berwick fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ahmed Hadjar should have stopped the shot. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cheikha Merbah in the 61st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ahmed Hadjar prevented the ball from getting in the gole. El Soltani hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. Tayeb Feraoun kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Berwick defense, Tayeb Feraoun kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ahmed Hadjar. The Berwick fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ahmed Hadjar should have stopped the shot. After having played for 75 minutes, Tayeb Feraoun managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Walpole's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tayeb Feraoun was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Mounir Cherrad could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 77th minute of the match, but Ferhat Kerbouche made a huge save. Ahmed Hadjar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tayeb Feraoun, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 84th match minute, Berwick was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hamid Yacine to maneuver through the defense. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Noureddine Belkacem during the 88th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 88 played minutes Berwick got a freekick which was hit by Noureddine Belkacem. Lounès Kouici fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ferhat Kerbouche having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Walpole had won after a very even match.
