The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Hamid Lacarne hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. In the 14th minute Noureddine Zerguelaine shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tayeb Diafat saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 16 minutes into the match, Houari Cixous dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Tayeb Diafat, 2-0. Chaba Daham received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Maïssa Madjer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Chadli Sadmi fell near the penalty area in the 24th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored New Orleans's protests and gave Chadli Sadmi a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Ponte Pereiro FC booed when New Orleans was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Chadli Sadmi didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 27th minute the ball was on its way in behind New Orleans's goalkeeper Tayeb Diafat, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Abdelhamid Fadhil Mohamed had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 37th minute Noureddine Zerguelaine shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tayeb Diafat saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, New Orleans's Halim Bensaïd got a free kick in the 38th minute. After a defensive mix-up in New Orleans's zone, Abdelhamid Fadhil Mohamed stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tayeb Diafat came out of the goal and Abdelhamid Fadhil Mohamed tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Abdelhamid Fadhil Mohamed had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Chaba Daham sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cheb Megharia kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Noureddine Zerguelaine in the 56th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tayeb Diafat prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Maïssa Madjer made a fantastic save in the 68th minute, when Chaba Daham sent off a good shot on target. If Chaba Daham had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Noureddine Zerguelaine in the 78th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tayeb Diafat saved New Orleans from getting behind. The supporters of Ponte Pereiro FC booed when New Orleans was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Halim Bensaïd didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the New Orleans defense, Noureddine Zerguelaine kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tayeb Diafat. The New Orleans fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tayeb Diafat should have stopped the shot. Chaba Daham received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Maïssa Madjer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Noureddine Zerguelaine sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After having played for 95 minutes, Cheb Megharia managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ponte Pereiro FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cheb Megharia was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
