The crowd rose to their feet as Hamid Khalef kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Bellemou Belloumi. That made the score 1-0 in the 37 minute of play. Rabah Madouni might have been able to make a better finish in the 43rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Faouzi Ben Khalidi. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Rabah Madouni ran back to his position shaking his head.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ahmed Reda Kafi was the one to do the kick off. Faouzi Ben Khalidi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ahmed Reda Kafi, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. Hachemi Hamruche hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in West New York AFC's zone, Rabah Madouni stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Faouzi Ben Khalidi came out of the goal and Rabah Madouni tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched East Troy eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
