St. John AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Mehdi Hamid Brahima was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Madhi Gourion breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Madhi Gourion took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Charles Matmour, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Madhi Gourion showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Charles Matmour in the 8th minute of the match. In the 10th minute Souad Mansouri shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Salah Tlemcani saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Mehdi Hamid Brahima had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Charles Matmour received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Madhi Gourion tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 15 minutes into the match, Mehdi Hamid Brahima had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Madhi Gourion. Uvalde's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mehdi Hamid Brahima was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Salah Tlemcani made an important save on a dangerous shot by Souad Mansouri in the 28th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Ismaïl Seghiri managed to get in a good position for a shot. Uvalde's supporters crossed their fingers, but Noureddine Boulmerka was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Mehdi Hamid Brahima made a kick off. Charles Matmour who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 51stth minute tested the skills of Madhi Gourion when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Rabah Dahleb sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Uvalde booed when St. John AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mohamed Mimoun didn't get a good kick on the ball. 56 minutes into the match, Uvalde's Mourad Lacen broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Madhi Gourion made a fantastic save in the 58th minute, when Charles Matmour sent off a good shot on target. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ismaïl Seghiri during the 62nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 63 played minutes Uvalde got a freekick which was hit by Ismaïl Seghiri. In the 66th minute, Souad Mansouri made a precise shot to the right of Salah Tlemcani. St. John AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Rabah Dahleb struck a weak shot in the 70th minute. Salah Tlemcani didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Uvalde. Sid Horr hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. 78 minutes into the match, Uvalde's goalkeeper Madhi Gourion had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Charles Matmour. Charles Matmour fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Madhi Gourion having to interfere. If Souad Mansouri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Uvalde fans cheered their team off the field, for while St. John AFC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
