Mahmoud Fari made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ben Zenia in the 25th minute of play. 27 minutes into the match, Houston's Toufik Seghiri sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mahmoud Fari narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Houston's zone, Karim Zaoui stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Abdelhamid Benhamou came out of the goal and Karim Zaoui tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cheb Mohamed could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 42nd minute of the match, but Abdelhamid Benhamou made a huge save. If Cheb Mohamed had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cheb Mohamed recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Mahmoud Fari showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ben Zenia, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. If Karim Zaoui had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Karim Zaoui in the 59th minute of play forced Houston's goalkeeper Abdelhamid Benhamou to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 61 minutes into the game, Houston's Toufik Seghiri nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot.
