After having played for 11 minutes, Fergani Kacha managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Avenal's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fergani Kacha was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 14th minute, Fadel Tlemcani ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Krim Madjer was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. After some careless play in the Delhi defense, Fadel Tlemcani kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Krim Madjer. The Delhi fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Krim Madjer should have stopped the shot. Avenal's Rachid Hadjadj proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to save Avenal from getting a goal against them. With a little luck, Avenal's Rachid Hadjadj got control of the ball when Mohamed Djebbour tried to sneak it across the goal line. Mohamed Djebbour received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Rachid Hadjadj tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mohamed Djebbour had several of the Avenal's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 36 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-2 score and a disappointed Rachid Hadjadj as he didn't even see the shot coming. After the first half Avenal were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Mebarek Azzizi-Kettab made a kick off. A collision led to Avenal getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Abdel Kouri hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fergani Kacha in the 60th minute of play forced Delhi's goalkeeper Krim Madjer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fadel Tlemcani got free with Krim Madjer in the 64th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Fadel Tlemcani had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Krim Madjer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fergani Kacha in the 71st minute of the match. Rachid Hadjadj showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mebarek Azzizi-Kettab, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute.
