The referee ignored Cuba's protests and gave Chadli Hadjar a yellow card for diving instead. After 4 played minutes Cuba got a freekick which was hit by Chadli Hadjar. The audience was convinced that Anthar Zeghdoud's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Salim Seghiri was relentless in the 10th minute of the game. If Faouzi Belloumi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Menad Chaib stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Strathmore FC's Rachid Drid got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cuba's Salim Seghiri played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cherif Azzizi-Kettab in the 54th minute of play.
