The supporters of Calvert City FC booed when Erie was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kassel Abrika didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cheikha Ibrir in the 20th minute of play forced Erie's goalkeeper Hamid Saadane to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Chakib El-Ouafi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Smail Toumi in the 22nd minute of play. 26 minutes into the game, Smail Toumi cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Chakib El-Ouafi was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 30th minute Smail Toumi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chakib El-Ouafi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Smail Toumi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Chakib El-Ouafi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Abd al-Aziz Megharia was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 36 minutes into the match. A collision led to Calvert City FC getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Hocine Meriem hit a great ball. Abdulhamid Sahraoui fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chakib El-Ouafi having to interfere. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

After a rather tough play, Calvert City FC's Bellemou Dahleb got a free kick in the 55th minute. If Hocine Meriem had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Abdulhamid Sahraoui sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
