Spotswood AFC's Lakhdar Boukensa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mimoun Ouid Zitouni in the 39th minute of play. Hamid Medaci hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Spotswood AFC's zone, Mimoun Ouid Zitouni stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lakhdar Boukensa came out of the goal and Mimoun Ouid Zitouni tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 48th minute, Jussef Ben Cavalli made a precise shot to the right of Lakhdar Boukensa. Spotswood AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 2-2 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ahmed Mehenni to make the kick off. 55 minutes into the game, Ahmed Mehenni was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Tavares's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Spotswood AFC the free kick. The supporters of Spotswood AFC booed when Tavares was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ahmed Mehenni didn't get a good kick on the ball.
