In the 9th minute Rachid Djura suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. After 18 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Pontiac! The referee gave Downey AFC a penalty, 20 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Tedj Medjiba, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Pontiac's Souad Abbas. 1-0. If Jean-Baptiste Benarbia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 25 played minutes Downey AFC got a freekick which was hit by Ahmed Reda Madouni. If Cheb Beloufa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 28 played minutes Pontiac got a freekick which was hit by Mohammad Boukensa. A collision led to Downey AFC getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Yazid Belkacem hit a great ball. With a little luck, Pontiac's Souad Abbas got control of the ball when Cheb Beloufa tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Downey AFC's zone, Guillaume Laurent Benflis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mourad Kerkar came out of the goal and Guillaume Laurent Benflis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tedj Medjiba charged in rather forcefully in the 45th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tedj Medjiba the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Downey AFC getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Tedj Medjiba hit a great ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cheb Beloufa to make the kick off. Maamar Bouteflika hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. Hamid Sennaoui took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 52nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Mourad Kerkar. Downey AFC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After 55th play minutes Amine Belkacem shot 2-0, a short shot which went by Souad Abbas and just under the crossbar into goal. Souad Abbas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cheb Beloufa in the 60th minute of play. If Guillaume Laurent Benflis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 68 minutes, Jean-Baptiste Benarbia mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Pontiac and the Downey AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Jean-Baptiste Benarbia kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. If Cheb Beloufa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Downey AFC's Cheb Beloufa in the 72nd minute got a chance for a shot 72nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Pontiac's goalie prevented a goal. Mohammad Boukensa kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. Tedj Medjiba took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 75th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Souad Abbas. Pontiac's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Guillaume Laurent Benflis succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-1 in the 80th playminute. Pontiac's Souad Abbas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cheb Beloufa in the 87th minute of play. Souad Abbas didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Amine Belkacem went, in the 89th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Downey AFC had won after a very even match.
