Fateh Zafour showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Robert Kouidri, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. In the 45th minute, Mouloud Morceli sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Duncan's Fateh Zafour didn't even have to move.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Krim Mehenni to strike the kick off in the second half. El Djamel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fateh Zafour having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Albert Ghozali in the 57th minute of play forced Defiance's goalkeeper Smail Feraoun to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 59th minute the ball was on its way in behind Defiance's goalkeeper Smail Feraoun, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Smail Feraoun took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Bella, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Albert Ghozali had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Defiance defense, Albert Ghozali kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Smail Feraoun. The Defiance fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Smail Feraoun should have stopped the shot. El Djamel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fateh Zafour having to interfere. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
