The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After some fancy dribbling in the 3rd minute, Farid Madjer managed to get in a good position for a shot. In the 8th match minute, Pelham was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Abdelkader Yahi to maneuver through the defense. After 27 played minutes Pelham got a freekick which was hit by Liamine Mezair. After 31 minutes of play, Pelham's Fodil Yacine made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Nasser Bouteflika made a kick off. Muhammad Morceli struck a weak shot in the 51st minute. Abdelmalek Saïfi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pelham. Ismael Méniri sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nasser Bouteflika in the 70th minute of play forced Pelham's goalkeeper Hocine Abdi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 79 minutes, Fodil Yacine managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pelham's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fodil Yacine was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 82 minutes into the match, Devola's goal looked a bit too open when Robert Boudjedra came free, but Abdelmalek Saïfi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 93 minutes of play, Devola's Larbi Derrida made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Hocine Abdi was left in no man's land by his defense there! When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Pelham players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
