Liamine Bencheikh made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mimoun Khalef in the 10th minute of play forced Montpelier's goalkeeper Salah Djebbour to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 14th minute Jussef Messaoudi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Liamine Bencheikh saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Abd el Hanister managed to get in a good position for a shot. North Wilkesboro's supporters rose to their feet, but Abd el Hanister was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Salah Djebbour breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Mimoun Khalef's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Salah Djebbour read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 24th minute of play. Hocine Zitouni's late challenge caught a North Wilkesboro's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hocine Zitouni helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Montpelier's Hocine Zitouni got a free kick in the 25th minute. If Jussef Messaoudi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Albert Cavalli's late challenge caught a Montpelier's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Albert Cavalli helped the player get up and apologised. Albert Cavalli kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. When Jussef Messaoudi came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Montpelier fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jussef Messaoudi couldn't finish the play. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Mimoun Khalef was the one to do the kick off. Liamine Bencheikh took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jussef Messaoudi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Abd el Hanister recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Salah Djebbour didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Mimoun Khalef went, in the 60th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. The crowd rose to their feet as Montpelier's Brahim Ouyahia slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Liamine Bencheikh. That made the score 1-3 after 66 minutes of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Abd el Hanister managed to get in a good position for a shot. North Wilkesboro's supporters rose to their feet, but Abd el Hanister was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Salah Djebbour showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mimoun Khalef in the 73rd minute of the match. Jussef Messaoudi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Liamine Bencheikh having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Abd el Hanister in the 85th minute of play forced Montpelier's goalkeeper Salah Djebbour to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Amar Amara sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Amar Amara got free with Liamine Bencheikh in the 91st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Montpelier eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
