The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 5 minutes into the match, Fort Knox's goalkeeper Ahmed Besseghir had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Chakib Hamruche. Emsworth FC's Rachid Mimoun played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by El Seghiri in the 8th minute of play. Kateb Matmour fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ahmed Besseghir having to interfere. Rachid Mimoun showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from El Seghiri in the 21st minute of the match. 21 minutes into the game, Fort Knox's El Seghiri nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rachid Mimoun made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Ahmed Besseghir took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kateb Matmour, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rachid Mimoun showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ali Metref, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by El Seghiri during the 32nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 32 played minutes Fort Knox got a freekick which was hit by El Seghiri. Chakib Hamruche fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ahmed Besseghir having to interfere. In the 45th match minute, Fort Knox was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Said Belmadi to maneuver through the defense. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ali Metref was the one to do the kick off. Kateb Matmour sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Chakib Hamruche came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the Emsworth FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Chakib Hamruche couldn't finish the play. Nouredine Benmabrouk kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. In the 64th minute of the match, Ali Metref tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Rachid Mimoun saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After having played for 66 minutes, Kateb Matmour managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Emsworth FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kateb Matmour was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 69th minute, Kateb Matmour got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Chakib Hamruche sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 74 minutes into the match, Fort Knox's goal looked a bit too open when Kateb Matmour came free, but Ahmed Besseghir reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 75thth minute of the game Chakib Hamruche who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Fort Knox's Ahmed Besseghir was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. El Seghiri struck a weak shot in the 79th minute. Rachid Mimoun didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Fort Knox. In the 80th match minute, Emsworth FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sofiane Dahleb to maneuver through the defense. When El Seghiri came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the Fort Knox fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that El Seghiri couldn't finish the play. Ali Metref recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rachid Mimoun stood somewhat misplaced when El Seghiri came free in front of goal and shot 0-2 to the left of him in the 84 minute. Ali Metref sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Chakib Hamruche fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ahmed Besseghir having to interfere. Emsworth FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Fort Knox the free kick. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Fort Knox would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
