Chaba Aboulker received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Fergani Amara tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mouloud Doutté made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Faouzi Hamid in the 7th minute of play. Salim Ziani's late challenge caught a Progreso's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Salim Ziani helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Progreso booed when Long Beach was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Salim Ziani didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mohammed Ahmed Ben Ramdane received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Mouloud Doutté tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 17th minute Faouzi Hamid shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mouloud Doutté saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nabil Bouzid in the 22nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fergani Amara saved Long Beach from getting behind. If Nabil Bouzid had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nabil Bouzid sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Progreso's Mouloud Doutté played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mohammed Ahmed Ben Ramdane in the 54th minute of play. 56 minutes into the match, Progreso's goal looked a bit too open when Faouzi Hamid came free, but Mouloud Doutté reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mouloud Doutté came out of the goal in the 57th minute to try and stop a shot by Long Beach's Mohammed Ahmed Ben Ramdane. But to his dismay, Mohammed Ahmed Ben Ramdane quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Chaba Aboulker's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 61stth minute, Fergani Amara skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 63rd minute Faouzi Hamid shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mouloud Doutté saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Amine Bezzaz charged in rather forcefully in the 69th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Amine Bezzaz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Amine Bezzaz hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. Fergani Amara made a fantastic save in the 75th minute, when Chaba Aboulker sent off a good shot on target. Long Beach's Fergani Amara proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to save Long Beach from getting a goal against them. Chaba Aboulker who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 87thth minute tested the skills of Fergani Amara when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Nabil Bouzid fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fergani Amara having to interfere. For all the effort they put into the match, the Progreso players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Long Beach.
