The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Hocine Bouteflika received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Hamid Laura Douibi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 11 minutes into the match, Nabil Ben Khalidi had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ismaël Menad. Schofield's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nabil Ben Khalidi was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Mohamed Kensi scored 0-2 in the 20th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ismaël Menad, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Nabil Ben Khalidi struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Ismaël Menad didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Stanton AFC. In the 27th minute, Ismaël Mimoun hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ali Amrouche's late challenge caught a Stanton AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ali Amrouche helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Stanton AFC booed when Schofield was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ali Amrouche didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 30th match minute, Schofield was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ali Amrouche to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the Schofield defense, Mohamed Kensi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ismaël Menad. The Schofield fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ismaël Menad should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tayeb El Ouafi in the 46th minute of play forced Stanton AFC's goalkeeper Hamid Laura Douibi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tayeb El Ouafi stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Smail Merzekane hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hamid Laura Douibi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tayeb El Ouafi in the 59th minute of play. Hamid Laura Douibi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tayeb El Ouafi, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. After a rather tough play, Stanton AFC's Smail Merzekane got a free kick in the 67th minute. Tayeb El Ouafi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Stanton AFC's Hamid Laura Douibi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tayeb El Ouafi in the 75th minute of play. Nabil Ben Khalidi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ismaël Menad having to interfere. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Hamid Laura Douibi showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The Stanton AFC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Stanton AFC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
