Karim Bouazza took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 24th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Abdulhamid Mecherara. Preston's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Charles Boudjedra didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Abdelaziz Achiu went, in the 26th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Charles Boudjedra stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Farid Boulmerka's shot from short distance in the 31st minute. 37 minutes into the match, Cornelia FC's goalkeeper Charles Boudjedra had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Abdelaziz Achiu. In the 38th minute, Farid Boulmerka got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Abdelaziz Achiu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Charles Boudjedra tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 43rd minute, Billel Hamouda sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Cornelia FC's Charles Boudjedra didn't even have to move. When Mohamed Ali came up free with the goalie in the 48th minute, the Preston fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mohamed Ali couldn't finish the play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Farid Boulmerka was the one to do the kick off. Charles Boudjedra made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Farid Boulmerka in the 54th minute of play. In the 56th minute Farid Boulmerka shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Charles Boudjedra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Abdel Djebar got his second yellow card in the match during the 56th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 57th minute, Abdel Djebar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Charles Boudjedra showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Farid Boulmerka in the 58th minute of the match. Farid Boulmerka sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Madhi Bruel was shown his second yellow card after 66 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 66th match minute, Preston was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Madhi Bruel to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Preston's Abdulhamid Mecherara got control of the ball when Abdelaziz Merah tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Abdelaziz Merah got free with Abdulhamid Mecherara in the 73rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 86th minute, Preston's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Abdelaziz Merah fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Mourad Meniri's late challenge caught a Preston's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mourad Meniri helped the player get up and apologised. Mourad Meniri kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. After having played for 90 minutes, Abdelaziz Achiu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Preston's supporters crossed their fingers, but Abdelaziz Achiu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Cornelia FC getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Boughera Sifi hit a great ball. Abdelaziz Merah could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 97th minute of the match, but Abdulhamid Mecherara made a huge save. The Cornelia FC players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Preston from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
