The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Chih Bouzid came up free with the goalie in the 3rd minute, the Havre fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Chih Bouzid couldn't finish the play. Ahmed Bitat fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rabah Achiu having to interfere. Nasreddine Zaoui showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Chih Bouzid, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. After 35 minutes, Khalida Khaldi mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Elm Grove and the Havre players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 35th minute, Khalida Khaldi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 36th minute of the match Tahar Sellal sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Nasreddine Zaoui skillfully saved the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Havre's zone, Djabir Medaci stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rabah Achiu came out of the goal and Djabir Medaci tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 43 minutes into the game, Djabir Medaci was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Elm Grove's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Havre the free kick. Djabir Medaci hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. After 45 minutes, Jean-Michel Metref mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Elm Grove and the Havre players grew even worse after the yellow card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Elm Grove fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 44th minute. Penalty! In the 47th minute there was a penalty for Havre. Tahar Sellal stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Nasreddine Zaoui. 1-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Chih Bouzid made a kick off. Samir Bruel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Rabah Achiu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 63 played minutes Elm Grove got a freekick which was hit by Mouloud Medaci. In the 64th minute of the match Tahar Sellal sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Nasreddine Zaoui skillfully saved the ball. After 66 minutes of play, Elm Grove's Samir Bruel made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rabah Achiu was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Ahmed Bitat had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Elm Grove booed when Havre was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Charles Mouzaoui didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 83rd minute of the match Elm Grove got a corner. Havre's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Jean-Michel Metref ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 89th minute, Amar Djenia Lkbira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 90 minutes into the match, Elm Grove's goal looked a bit too open when Chih Bouzid came free, but Nasreddine Zaoui reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nasreddine Zaoui took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fawzi Djura, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. For all the effort they put into the match, the Havre players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Elm Grove.
