Vernon Hills's Abd al-Asis Bouteflika played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Belaid Bencheikh in the 5th minute of play. Vernon Hills's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Richardson the free kick. In the 37th minute, Abdelhamid Achiou hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 38th minute, Belaid Bencheikh fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Abd al-Asis Bouteflika, passed just outside the right post. The supporters of Richardson booed when Vernon Hills was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Abdelhamid Achiou didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 45 played minutes Richardson got a freekick which was hit by Faouzi Besseghir. Belaid Bencheikh charged in rather forcefully in the 47th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Belaid Bencheikh the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Belaid Bencheikh to strike the kick off in the second half. Richardson's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Mohamed Djebbour in the 56th minute. The corner led Richardson's Mohamed Djebbour to fire away a dangerous shot which Abd al-Asis Bouteflika despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Hocine Ahmed fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abd al-Asis Bouteflika having to interfere. Mohamed Djebbour's late challenge caught a Vernon Hills's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. When the match clock showed 73 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Belaid Bencheikh sped through Vernon Hills's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Abd al-Asis Bouteflika. In the 77th minute, Nabil Matoub fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Hocine Ahmed fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abd al-Asis Bouteflika having to interfere. Abd al-Asis Bouteflika came out of the goal in the 86th minute to try and stop a shot by Richardson's Faouzi Besseghir. But to his dismay, Faouzi Besseghir quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. Boudjemaa Matoub sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Richardson's Belaid Bencheikh got a good chance for a goal in the 97th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Richardson's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
