The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Abderrachid Hamdani sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Tulare's Sid Hamouda got a free kick in the 11th minute. In the 12th minute, Noureddine Brahimi sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Tulare's Nasser Benbitour didn't even have to move. Abderrahmane Benhamou recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 14th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ahmed Arrache during the 20th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 20th minute, Ahmed Arrache hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Chaba Saïdi-Sief showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hocine Bouazza, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Abderrahmane Benhamou fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chaba Saïdi-Sief having to interfere. Chaba Saïdi-Sief made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abderrahmane Benhamou in the 38th minute of play. Nasser Benbitour took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abderrachid Hamdani, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sid Hamouda's late challenge caught a Etna's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sid Hamouda helped the player get up and apologised. Sid Hamouda kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. After 48 minutes Tulare's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Noureddine Brahimi who took care of the corner kick. In the 50th minute Etna were awarded a corner. Noureddine Brahimi went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led to Etna's Belaid Boutabout getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Abderrachid Hamdani stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Nasser Benbitour took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abdel Bitat, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Chaba Saïdi-Sief showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abderrahmane Benhamou, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. Chaba Saïdi-Sief didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Hocine Bouazza went, in the 63rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Sid Hamouda got his second yellow card in the match during the 69th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. A collision led to Tulare getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Sid Hamouda hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Abdel Bitat in the 73rd minute of play forced Tulare's goalkeeper Nasser Benbitour to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 75 minutes into the match, Etna's goalkeeper Chaba Saïdi-Sief had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hocine Bouazza. Hocine Bouazza could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 84th minute of the match, but Chaba Saïdi-Sief made a huge save. In the 86th minute, Tulare's Abderrahmane Benhamou dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-3. If Abderrachid Hamdani had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Etna's Chaba Saïdi-Sief proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 96th minute of the match, managed to save Etna from getting a goal against them. The audience thought a goal was coming when Hocine Bouazza got free with Chaba Saïdi-Sief in the 98th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Chaba Saïdi-Sief made an important save on a dangerous shot by Hocine Bouazza in the 99th minute.
