After a defensive mix-up in Bryn Mawr's zone, Ismaël Bencherif stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Menad Ouadah came out of the goal and Ismaël Bencherif tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 13th minute, Hamza Djebar left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Bryn Mawr fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Chadli Bedjaoui fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Menad Ouadah having to interfere. After 16 minutes, Abdellah Mansouri mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Bryn Mawr and the Higginsville players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 16 played minutes Bryn Mawr got a freekick which was hit by Abdellah Mansouri. A collision led to Higginsville getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Boubekeur Gallaire hit a great ball. Mohamed Aribi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mustapha Beloufa in the 32nd minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Fodil Bensaoula during the 32nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 32 played minutes Higginsville got a freekick which was hit by Fodil Bensaoula. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ismaël Bencherif in the 38th minute of play forced Bryn Mawr's goalkeeper Menad Ouadah to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Chadli Bedjaoui had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ismaël Bencherif stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Bryn Mawr booed when Higginsville was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mohamed Sami Yachir didn't get a good kick on the ball. Higginsville's supporters crossed their fingers, but Chadli Bedjaoui was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
