When Yacine Daham fell near the penalty area in the 3rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mount Healthy Heights's protests and gave Yacine Daham a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Mount Healthy Heights's Yacine Daham got a free kick in the 3rd minute. In the 11th minute, Mohamed Khendu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 15 minutes into the match, Mourad Bouziane had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ali Saïdi-Sief. Melbourne FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mourad Bouziane was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Ali Saïdi-Sief showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mourad Bouziane in the 22nd minute of the match. After 24 played minutes Melbourne FC got a freekick which was hit by Salim Yahia. In the 25thth minute of the game Yacine Daham who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Melbourne FC's Ali Saïdi-Sief was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Salim Yahia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Abderrachid Soltani tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Abderrachid Soltani made a fantastic save in the 33rd minute, when Leon Fadela sent off a good shot on target. In the 37th minute, Mourad Bouziane made a precise shot to the right of Ali Saïdi-Sief. Melbourne FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Salim Yahia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Abderrachid Soltani tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 44th minute, Salim Yahia got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Mount Healthy Heights's defense didn't have a chance, in the 47th minute, when Salim Yahia scored to the left of an out of position Abderrachid Soltani, making the score, 1-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Yacine Daham to make the kick off. Salim Yahia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leon Fadela in the 57th minute of play forced Mount Healthy Heights's goalkeeper Abderrachid Soltani to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Leon Fadela had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mourad Diafat's late challenge caught a Melbourne FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mourad Diafat helped the player get up and apologised. In the 60th match minute, Mount Healthy Heights was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mourad Diafat to maneuver through the defense. After 62 played minutes Mount Healthy Heights got a freekick which was hit by Camel Sellal. Salim Yahia spun around in front of the goal 63 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Mount Healthy Heights's goal. 65 minutes into the game, Camel Sellal was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mount Healthy Heights's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Melbourne FC the free kick. Camel Sellal kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. After 68 minutes Mount Healthy Heights's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Yacine Bella who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Yacine Bella got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Abderrachid Soltani quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Abderrachid Soltani took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Salim Yahia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ali Saïdi-Sief made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Yacine Daham in the 72nd minute of play. In the 79th minute, Melbourne FC's Cheb Belfaa seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Cheb Belfaa the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Melbourne FC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Cheb Belfaa had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 79th minute of the game. One of Melbourne FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Mount Healthy Heights:s goal. The referee gave Mount Healthy Heights a penalty, 81 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Abderrachid Boulahfane, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Melbourne FC's Ali Saïdi-Sief. 1-3. Mourad Bouziane fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ali Saïdi-Sief having to interfere. Mourad Bouziane sent away a hard shot on goal in the 100th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Mount Healthy Heights players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
