If Leon Metref had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Tedj Cherrad fell near the penalty area in the 8th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Dalhart AFC's protests and gave Tedj Cherrad a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Dalhart AFC's Tedj Cherrad got a free kick in the 9th minute. The supporters of Virden booed when Dalhart AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Faouzi Mesbah didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dalhart AFC's Nasser Ben Bella played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leon Metref in the 20th minute of play. Zīn ud-Dīn Bentifour blasted a shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Mamaar Azem having to make a save. After 23 played minutes Virden got a freekick which was hit by Karim Diafat. After a rather tough play, Virden's Karim Diafat got a free kick in the 25th minute. Mehdi Touhami was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 25th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. El Zenia's late challenge caught a Virden's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. El Zenia helped the player get up and apologised. El Zenia kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. 35 minutes into the match, Dalhart AFC's El Zenia sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mamaar Azem narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Leon Metref's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nasser Ben Bella read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 45th minute of play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell El Zenia to make the kick off. Nasser Ben Bella showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mouloud Yahia, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. Nasser Ben Bella showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mouloud Yahia in the 65th minute of the match. Karim Diafat kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. In the 71st minute the ball was on its way in behind Dalhart AFC's goalkeeper Nasser Ben Bella, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Dalhart AFC's Abdelkader Kouri got a free kick in the 76th minute. After 79 played minutes, Virden's Abd el El-Ouafi shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Nasser Ben Bella came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Virden reached it. Mamaar Azem took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zīn ud-Dīn Bentifour, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mamaar Azem showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from El Zenia in the 84th minute of the match. In the 86th minute El Zenia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mamaar Azem saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Virden's Mouloud Yahia got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Leon Metref did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 0-1 to the left of a surprised Nasser Ben Bella 89 minutes into the match. Mouloud Yahia might have been able to make a better finish in the 93rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nasser Ben Bella. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mouloud Yahia ran back to his position shaking his head. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Fawzi Gaouaoui during the 96th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Virden eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
