St. Michael's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave West Elmira the free kick. The supporters of West Elmira booed when St. Michael was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Farès Ighil didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mohamed Benarbia took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 41st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Hamid Lacen. St. Michael's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. If Yacine Hamruche had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 47 minutes, Abdellah Medjadi Ahmed mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the West Elmira and the St. Michael players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 47 played minutes West Elmira got a freekick which was hit by Abdellah Medjadi Ahmed. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Kamel Saïd-Guerni to make the kick off. When Yacine Hamruche came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the West Elmira fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Yacine Hamruche couldn't finish the play. Hamid Lacen stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Yacine Hamruche's shot from short distance in the 55th minute. Soltani Piaf kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. 57 minutes into the match, St. Michael's goal looked a bit too open when Larbi Fergani came free, but Hamid Lacen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Kamel Saïd-Guerni had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rabah Madouni showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kamel Saïd-Guerni, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. Hamid Lacen came out of the goal in the 74th minute to try and stop a shot by West Elmira's Larbi Fergani. But to his dismay, Larbi Fergani quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Hamid Lacen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Yacine Hamruche in the 80th minute of play. When the match clock showed 83 minutes, the score became 2-1 when Yacine Hamruche sped through St. Michael's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Hamid Lacen. Yacine Hamruche recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to St. Michael getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Farès Ighil hit a great ball. There was no doubt that West Elmira were the better team. West Elmira's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
