Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Mustapha Belkheir made the kick off and thus started the match. When Ali Megharia fell near the penalty area in the 2nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored St. Michael's protests and gave Ali Megharia a yellow card for diving instead. After 2 played minutes St. Michael got a freekick which was hit by Ali Megharia. The audience was convinced that Mustapha Belkheir's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hamid Lacen was relentless in the 4th minute of the game. After 4 minutes, Said Madjer mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the St. Michael and the Exeter AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 4th match minute, St. Michael was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Said Madjer to maneuver through the defense. Mustapha Belkheir recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 9th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Mourad Moussaoui fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hamid Lacen having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mourad Moussaoui in the 20th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hamid Lacen saved St. Michael from getting behind. 22 minutes into the game, Kamel Saïd-Guerni recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Rachid Liegeon. Kamel Saïd-Guerni showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Cheb Boukensas short, quick shot in the 26thth minute got Rachid Liegeon to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Mourad Moussaoui received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Hamid Lacen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hamid Lacen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mourad Moussaoui in the 31st minute of the match. Rachid Liegeon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kamel Saïd-Guerni, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. Rachid Liegeon made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cheb Boukensa in the 35th minute. When Mourad Moussaoui came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Exeter AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mourad Moussaoui couldn't finish the play. 44 minutes into the match, Exeter AFC's Mustapha Belkheir sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Hamid Lacen narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Exeter AFC's Mourad Moussaoui in the 45th minute got a chance for a shot 45th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Kamel Saïd-Guerni was the one to do the kick off. If Cheb Boukensa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Cheb Boukensa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Rachid Liegeon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in St. Michael's zone, Mustapha Belkheir stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hamid Lacen came out of the goal and Mustapha Belkheir tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mourad Moussaoui received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Hamid Lacen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mustapha Belkheir struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Hamid Lacen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Exeter AFC. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The St. Michael fans cheered their team off the field, for while Exeter AFC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
