Match Report
Gaylord Stadium
Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27,
Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Brahim Kensi started the match with the kick off. 4 minutes into the match, Brahim Kensi notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Gaylord's Alain Kensi. Alain Kensi was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The audience was convinced that Brahim Kensi's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alain Kensi was relentless in the 13th minute of the game. When Mimoun Ouid Djebbour fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gaylord's protests and gave Mimoun Ouid Djebbour a yellow card for diving instead. Mohamed Meskine was extremely unlucky when he, in the 20th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. If Brahim Kensi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 29th minute, Nasser Kouici got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Gaylord booed when Hingham AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hemza Guendouz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Brahim Kensi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alain Kensi having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Hingham AFC's zone, Mohamed Meskine stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fawzi Kouidri came out of the goal and Mohamed Meskine tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Nasser Kouici received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Fawzi Kouidri tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With an all-out effort, Gaylord's Fawzi Kouidri threw himself towards the right post 47 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Mohamed Meskine, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The Gaylord players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Hingham AFC were winning 0-2.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mohamed Meskine to make the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 51st minute, Brahim Kensi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hingham AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Brahim Kensi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alain Kensi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ahmed Chaib who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 52ndth minute tested the skills of Alain Kensi when he managed to save the team from getting behind. If Mohamed Meskine had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fawzi Kouidri made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nasser Kouici in the 59th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nasser Kouici in the 60th minute of play forced Hingham AFC's goalkeeper Fawzi Kouidri to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alain Kensi made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ahmed Chaib in the 63rd minute. Gaylord's Mimoun Ouid Djebbour got his second yellow card of the match in the 65th minute. The referee ordered Mimoun Ouid Djebbour off the ground. In the 65th minute, Mimoun Ouid Djebbour hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ahmed Chaib came free with the goalkeeper in the 67th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Alain Kensi could save by the left post. Brahim Kensi might have been able to make a better finish in the 69th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Alain Kensi. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Brahim Kensi ran back to his position shaking his head. Nasser Kouici sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tahar Adjani's late challenge caught a Hingham AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tahar Adjani helped the player get up and apologised. Tahar Adjani kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. Hingham AFC's Hameur Madani couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 96th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Gaylord. The Hingham AFC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Hingham AFC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
