Khalida Bey's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Anthar Haddou read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 2nd minute of play. The East San Gabriel FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Anthar Haddou should have stopped the shot. Jean-Baptiste Amri lost his temper 10 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 9th minute of the game. One of East San Gabriel FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Chester:s goal. In the 14th minute, Chester's Khalida Bey dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-0. In the 19th minute the ball was on its way in behind East San Gabriel FC's goalkeeper Anthar Haddou, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 22 minutes, Cheb Baroudi mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Chester and the East San Gabriel FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Chester getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Cheb Baroudi hit a great ball. Chester's Mohamed Mecherara played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mamaar Dahleb in the 23rd minute of play. Anthar Haddou made an important save on a dangerous shot by Abdelnasser Aliche in the 29th minute. When Cheikha Mérah-Benida fell near the penalty area in the 32nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Chester's protests and gave Cheikha Mérah-Benida a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of East San Gabriel FC booed when Chester was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cheikha Mérah-Benida didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kamel Zemmamouche struck a weak shot in the 34th minute. Mohamed Mecherara didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for East San Gabriel FC. Khalida Bey fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anthar Haddou having to interfere. 44 minutes into the match, East San Gabriel FC's Abdel Hamid Timsit sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mohamed Mecherara narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 46 played minutes Chester got a freekick which was hit by Cheikha Mérah-Benida. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nassim Zouba during the 47th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Nassim Zouba kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

In the 53rd minute, Kamel Zemmamouche ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mohamed Mecherara was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. If Sid Ahmed Yahia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 63rd match minute, East San Gabriel FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Robert Kaci Said to maneuver through the defense. Anthar Haddou stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Abdelnasser Aliche's shot from short distance in the 65th minute. Khalida Bey fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anthar Haddou having to interfere. Mohamed Mecherara made a fantastic save in the 72nd minute, when Kamel Zemmamouche sent off a good shot on target. Abdelnasser Aliche received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Anthar Haddou tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
