After a rather tough play, Iona's Bendjedid Hamdani got a free kick in the 3rd minute. Bendjedid Hamdani hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. Abdelmalek Timsit received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Rachid Meniri came out and tried to block the shot, but Abdelmalek Timsit slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 9th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Walid Zidane managed to get in a good position for a shot. Winchendon's supporters rose to their feet, but Walid Zidane was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rachid Meniri breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 15th minute Abdelmalek Timsit shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rachid Meniri saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Abdellah Medjadi Radjef might have been able to make a better finish in the 16th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rachid Meniri. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Abdellah Medjadi Radjef ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 17th match minute, Iona was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bendjedid Hamdani to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Iona's zone, Leon Teissier stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rachid Meniri came out of the goal and Leon Teissier tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bendjedid Hamdani hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. Robert Hemdani took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Moulay Megharia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Abdelmalek Timsit recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A hard shot 33 in the game by Abdellah Medjadi Radjef from a close distance when the talented Rachid Meniri managed to make a qualified save. Iona's players were relieved. In the 35thth minute of the game Moulay Megharia who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Winchendon's Robert Hemdani was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 36th minute the ball was on its way in behind Iona's goalkeeper Rachid Meniri, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to Winchendon getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Walid Zidane hit a great ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Hamza Benchenaa during the 39th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a defensive mix-up in Iona's zone, Abdellah Medjadi Radjef stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rachid Meniri came out of the goal and Abdellah Medjadi Radjef tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Maamar Ahmed fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Robert Hemdani having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.
Abdelmalek Timsit sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In a very dangerous position, a player in Iona fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 61st minute. Penalty! Rachid Meniri had in the 62ndth minute some difficulties stopping Mohamed Matmour's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. 62 minutes into the game, Mohamed Matmour cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Rachid Meniri was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Abdelmalek Timsit sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rachid Meniri showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abdelmalek Timsit in the 70th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Abdelmalek Timsit's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rachid Meniri was relentless in the 75th minute of the game. Winchendon's Abdellah Medjadi Radjef got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Winchendon's Robert Hemdani played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Moulay Megharia in the 82nd minute of play. 86 minutes into the game, Abdellah Medjadi Radjef cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Rachid Meniri was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The supporters of Iona booed when Winchendon was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Abdelmalek Timsit didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 92nd of the match, Moulay Megharia tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Robert Hemdani got in the way and made a wonderful save. Robert Hemdani made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maamar Ahmed in the 94th minute of play. Abdellah Medjadi Radjef's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rachid Meniri read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 96th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Moulay Megharia in the 98th minute of play forced Winchendon's goalkeeper Robert Hemdani to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Moulay Megharia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 101st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Robert Hemdani having to interfere. For all the effort they put into the match, the Iona players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Winchendon.
