Alain Madjer was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 4 minutes into the match. After 3 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for West Bradenton! In the 8th minute of the match Fuat Gök sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Luis Islas skillfully saved the ball. The supporters of West Bradenton booed when JAMHURIYA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juninho Peixoto didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 11th minute the ball was on its way in behind JAMHURIYA's goalkeeper Zdzislaw Bartoszek, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 13 minutes JAMHURIYA's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Abd el Cherrad who took care of the corner kick. After a rather tough play, West Bradenton's Abd el Cherrad got a free kick in the 15th minute. After a defensive mix-up in West Bradenton's zone, Fouad Benflis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luis Islas came out of the goal and Fouad Benflis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mansour Mezair during the 17th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The audience was convinced that Norbert Gomolka's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Zdzislaw Bartoszek was relentless in the 21st minute of the game. Luis Islas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Claudinei Esteves, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Norbert Gomolka in the 30th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Zdzislaw Bartoszek prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 33 played minutes JAMHURIYA got a freekick which was hit by Fouad Benflis. Luis Islas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Juninho Peixoto in the 36th minute of play. In the 39th match minute, JAMHURIYA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Yusuf Okcun to maneuver through the defense. Luis Islas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Yusuf Okcun, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. West Bradenton's Luis Islas proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to save West Bradenton from getting a goal against them.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Norbert Gomolka stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Zdzislaw Bartoszek made an important save on a dangerous shot by Norbert Gomolka in the 62nd minute. 62 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when West Bradenton's Norbert Gomolka fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rachid Matoub got free with Zdzislaw Bartoszek in the 65th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 66thth minute of the game Norbert Gomolka who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but JAMHURIYA's Zdzislaw Bartoszek was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Zdzislaw Bartoszek stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Norbert Gomolka's shot from short distance in the 70th minute. Rachid Matoub fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zdzislaw Bartoszek having to interfere. After a rather tough play, West Bradenton's Ahmed Azzizi-Kettab got a free kick in the 74th minute. Luis Islas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Yusuf Okcun, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 80 minutes into the match, Norbert Gomolka had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Zdzislaw Bartoszek. JAMHURIYA's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Norbert Gomolka was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. In the 83rd minute the ball was on its way in behind JAMHURIYA's goalkeeper Zdzislaw Bartoszek, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Norbert Gomolka could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 86th minute of the match, but Zdzislaw Bartoszek made a huge save. 88 minutes into the match, JAMHURIYA's goalkeeper Zdzislaw Bartoszek had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Norbert Gomolka. In the 96th minute Juninho Peixoto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luis Islas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Chants of West Bradenton echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as JAMHURIYA had held the ball for most of the match.
