In the 3rd match minute, Yale was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Coy Marks to maneuver through the defense. Bradford Lyon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Milton Abraham had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 10 minutes into the match, Clermont's goalkeeper Royce Parsons had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Huey Snider. If Huey Snider had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Clermont getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Léandre Bilodeau hit a great ball. In the 20th minute, Coy Marks sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Clermont's Royce Parsons didn't even have to move. After some fancy dribbling in the 24th minute, Kenton Mendoza managed to get in a good position for a shot. Clermont's supporters rose to their feet, but Kenton Mendoza was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Elwood Lamour breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Clermont booed when Yale was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Scotty Read didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bradford Lyon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elwood Lamour having to interfere. 34 minutes into the match, Yale's goal looked a bit too open when Bradford Lyon came free, but Elwood Lamour reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 35 minutes, Huey Snider mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Yale and the Clermont players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 36th minute, Huey Snider hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kenton Mendoza blasted a shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Elwood Lamour having to make a save. In the 44th match minute, Yale was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lawrence Atkins to maneuver through the defense.

In the 54th minute Bradford Lyon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elwood Lamour saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 55 minutes into the match, Yale's goal looked a bit too open when Bradford Lyon came free, but Elwood Lamour reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Yale's zone, Bradford Lyon stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Elwood Lamour came out of the goal and Bradford Lyon tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Elwood Lamour showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bradford Lyon in the 66th minute of the match. Huey Snider sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Yale getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Coy Marks hit a great ball. In the 73rd minute, Clermont's Bradford Lyon ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Elwood Lamour. Elwood Lamour yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-1. Clermont's attack was well implemented in the 77th minute, but when Bradford Lyon was about to shoot he didn't get a good hit on the ball and it hit the crossbar and flew over. Goal Kick. After 78 played minutes Clermont got a freekick which was hit by Harris Kerns. After a rather tough play, Yale's Humbert Pina got a free kick in the 86th minute. Elwood Lamour took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bradford Lyon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Clermont had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
