Vernon Langford fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Erin Brady having to interfere. Hawkeye's Joaquin Sampson was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 13th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Hawkeye's Joaquin Sampson got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cortez Sanschagrin hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. After having played for 23 minutes, Vernon Langford managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hawkeye's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vernon Langford was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Irricana AFC's zone, Joaquin Sampson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Erin Brady came out of the goal and Joaquin Sampson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Joaquin Sampson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 32nd match minute, Hawkeye was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adolphe Sample to maneuver through the defense. Vernon Langford sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hawkeye's Joaquin Sampson got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Erin Brady didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 40th minute, which inside left pole to 2-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

In the 71st minute Joaquin Sampson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Erin Brady saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 75th minute, Tim Flynn managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hawkeye's supporters rose to their feet, but Tim Flynn was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Erin Brady breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Cristopher McDonald struck a weak shot in the 79th minute. Erin Brady didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hawkeye. Irricana AFC's Erin Brady played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joaquin Sampson in the 80th minute of play. Erin Brady took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joaquin Sampson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hawkeye's Vernon Langford got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Darryl Jeffers helped the player get up and apologised. After 95 played minutes Irricana AFC got a freekick which was hit by Darryl Jeffers. If Cristopher McDonald had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Hawkeye had played much better football throughout.
