If Derick Robison had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Newtown's zone, Lyndon Barrette stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Adolfo Langlais came out of the goal and Lyndon Barrette tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience was convinced that Lyndon Barrette's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Adolfo Langlais was relentless in the 10th minute of the game. In the 12th minute, Juste Rodgers hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Freddie Cardenas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Alphonse McCarty fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Balzac's protests and gave Alphonse McCarty a yellow card for diving instead. In the 14th match minute, Balzac was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alphonse McCarty to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 16 minutes, Emanuel Denton managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Newtown's supporters crossed their fingers, but Emanuel Denton was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Emanuel Denton could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 20th minute of the match, but Conrado Gentza made a huge save. After 24 played minutes Balzac got a freekick which was hit by Armand Lazure. In the 27th minute, Derick Robison hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 30 minutes into the game, Lyndon Barrette cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Adolfo Langlais was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Newtown's Adolfo Langlais played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lyndon Barrette in the 33rd minute of play. Graham Hutchison received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Adolfo Langlais tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 38th minute, Derick Robison hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 44th minute Lyndon Barrette shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adolfo Langlais saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Lyndon Barrette to strike the kick off in the second half. Adolfo Langlais showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Graham Hutchison, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. Lyndon Barrette in the 52ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Adolfo Langlais, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Graham Hutchison struck a weak shot in the 58th minute. Adolfo Langlais didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Balzac. Bobbie Orozco hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Newtown's zone, Graham Hutchison stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Adolfo Langlais came out of the goal and Graham Hutchison tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Lyndon Barrette blasted a shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Adolfo Langlais having to make a save. Lyndon Barrette did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 0-2 to the left of a surprised Adolfo Langlais 66 minutes into the match. Newtown's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Lyndon Barrette 72 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 0-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lyndon Barrette in the 76th minute of play forced Newtown's goalkeeper Adolfo Langlais to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Balzac's Lyndon Barrette was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 79th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. If Alphonse McCarty had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Adolfo Langlais made a fantastic save in the 88th minute, when Lyndon Barrette sent off a good shot on target. When Lyndon Barrette came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the Balzac fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lyndon Barrette couldn't finish the play. If Graham Hutchison had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 94 minutes, Graham Hutchison managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Balzac's supporters crossed their fingers, but Graham Hutchison was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Lyndon Barrette's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Adolfo Langlais read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 95th minute of play. Balzac played a much better game than Newtown and deserved their victory. The Newtown players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
