The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 5 minutes into the match, Barrhead FC's Claude Larsen sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Barney Garreau narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Barney Garreau made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Claude Larsen in the 6th minute of play. Barney Garreau showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Guadalupe Childress, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. Barney Garreau came out of the goal in the 9th minute to try and stop a shot by Barrhead FC's Guadalupe Childress. But to his dismay, Guadalupe Childress quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Byron Despins succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-1 in the 12th playminute. In the 15th match minute, Barrhead FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Toney Park to maneuver through the defense. In the 16th minute, Benton Reaves got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Toney Park hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. 24 minutes into the match, Benton Reaves sent off a long shot that looked like it was going straight into the goal, but because Fernand Pinette threw himself in his full length he managed to grip the ball by the left post, and there was no goal for Benton Reaves this time. Winfred Estes hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. Ricardo Gousse recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Barney Garreau showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Claude Larsen in the 30th minute of the match. 35 minutes in the game, Ricardo Gousse fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Fernand Pinette having to interfere. 36 minutes into the game, Champcoeur's Byron Despins nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Fernand Pinette made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Byron Despins in the 40th minute of play forced Barrhead FC's goalkeeper Fernand Pinette to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ricardo Gousse stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Fausto Carmichael hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. In the 55th minute Byron Despins shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fernand Pinette saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ricardo Gousse fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fernand Pinette having to interfere. 63 minutes into the match, Barrhead FC's goal looked a bit too open when Byron Despins came free, but Fernand Pinette reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Barney Garreau showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Claude Larsen in the 64th minute of the match. Byron Despins received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Fernand Pinette tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Ricardo Gousse had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fernand Pinette stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Byron Despins's shot from short distance in the 75th minute. Esteban Berger's late challenge caught a Champcoeur's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Esteban Berger helped the player get up and apologised. In the 77th minute, Byron Despins left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Champcoeur fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Byron Despins in the 85th minute of play forced Barrhead FC's goalkeeper Fernand Pinette to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Barrhead FC's Fernand Pinette played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ricardo Gousse in the 88th minute of play. When Toney Park fell near the penalty area in the 92nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Barrhead FC's protests and gave Toney Park a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Barrhead FC's Toney Park got a free kick in the 92nd minute. In the 93rd minute of the match Fausto Carmichael shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Fernand Pinette showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Fernand Pinette stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Byron Despins's shot from short distance in the 95th minute. Fernand Pinette showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Byron Despins, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Champcoeur had played much better football throughout.
