Sal Mejia did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-0 to the left of a surprised Alberto Laderoute 14 minutes into the match. After having played for 18 minutes, Victor Henry managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bassano's supporters crossed their fingers, but Victor Henry was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sal Mejia in the 30th minute of play forced Lucerne's goalkeeper Alberto Laderoute to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Sal Mejia to strike the kick off in the second half. Lucerne's Alberto Laderoute played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Victor Henry in the 54th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Victor Henry's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alberto Laderoute was relentless in the 55th minute of the game. When the match had gone on for 57 minutes, Victor Henry put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Alberto Laderoute. Lucerne's Cesaire Gary was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Mickey Léveillé in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Mickey Léveillé didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 69th minute, which inside left pole to 2-1. If Dick Jacob had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 94th minute of the match, Palmer Gamelin tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Mickey Léveillé saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Palmer Gamelin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mickey Léveillé having to interfere. For all the effort they put into the match, the Lucerne players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Bassano.
