Dick Jacob sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Toussaint Duarte hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. Rashad Tillman's late challenge caught a Argenta's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rashad Tillman helped the player get up and apologised. 16 minutes into the match, Argenta's Damian Hebert sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Alberto Laderoute narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The supporters of Argenta booed when Lucerne was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gregory Gingras didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 21stth minute of the game Steven Sousa who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Lucerne's Alberto Laderoute was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After having played for 35 minutes, Dick Jacob managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lucerne's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dick Jacob was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Christopher Payton showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Palmer Gamelin in the 38th minute of the match. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Palmer Gamelin made a kick off. Alberto Laderoute made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Toussaint Duarte in the 58th minute of play. In the 60th minute, Cesaire Gary hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dick Jacob could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 65th minute of the match, but Christopher Payton made a huge save. When Steven Sousa came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Argenta fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Steven Sousa couldn't finish the play. If Steven Sousa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Toussaint Duarte's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alberto Laderoute was relentless in the 71st minute of the game. Alberto Laderoute showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Steven Sousa, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute.
