Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Johnie Boswell got the match started through his kick off. When Jamie Richard fell near the penalty area in the 5th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Richmond's protests and gave Jamie Richard a yellow card for diving instead. In the 5th minute, Jamie Richard hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Claude Rushing sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 14th minute Bruce Bates shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marco Pate saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 15th minute the ball was on its way in behind Alberni's goalkeeper Marco Pate, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Claude Rushing fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marco Pate having to interfere. If Bruce Bates had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a defensive mix-up in Alberni's zone, Claude Rushing stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marco Pate came out of the goal and Claude Rushing tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 30 played minutes Richmond got a freekick which was hit by Gratien Jackson. 35 minutes into the match, Richmond's goalkeeper Prosper Osborn had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Darin Andrews. With a little luck, Richmond's Prosper Osborn got control of the ball when Johnie Boswell tried to sneak it across the goal line. Johnie Boswell's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Prosper Osborn read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 39th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Bruce Bates's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Marco Pate was relentless in the 46th minute of the game. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Bruce Bates to strike the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Alberni's zone, Carol Yazzie stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marco Pate came out of the goal and Carol Yazzie tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Johnie Boswell sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gratien Jackson hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. Prosper Osborn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Johnie Boswell in the 62nd minute of play. In the 63rd minute, Bruce Bates reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Marco Pate. The goal made the score 1-1. Prosper Osborn came out of the goal in the 68th minute to try and stop a shot by Alberni's Bradly Jodion. But to his dismay, Bradly Jodion quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Claude Rushing fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marco Pate having to interfere. Alberni's Marco Pate played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bruce Bates in the 77th minute of play. Prosper Osborn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Johnie Boswell, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Bruce Bates had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Johnie Boswell in the 88th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Prosper Osborn saved Richmond from getting behind. Marco Pate made a fantastic save in the 90th minute, when Claude Rushing sent off a good shot on target. In the 92nd minute, Preston Varela hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Alberni's Marco Pate proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 95th minute of the match, managed to save Alberni from getting a goal against them. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Alberni fans cheered their team off the field, for while Richmond had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
