The tension between the Sellwood FC and the Conquest players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Conquest booed when Sellwood FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristopher Drake didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mauro Thurman took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 4th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Lonnie Floyd. Sellwood FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Lonnie Floyd took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lane Summers, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Vaughn Wolf had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sherman Bateman kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. In the 8th minute Vaughn Wolf shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lonnie Floyd saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 8 minutes into the game, Vaughn Wolf cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Lonnie Floyd was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Lane Summers fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lonnie Floyd having to interfere. In the 18th match minute, Sellwood FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paul Grubb to maneuver through the defense. After 19 played minutes, Conquest's Mauro Thurman shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Lonnie Floyd came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Conquest reached it. In the 22nd match minute, Sellwood FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sherman Bateman to maneuver through the defense. Lane Summers fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lonnie Floyd having to interfere. Jean Henson made a fantastic save in the 35th minute, when Dwain Broussard sent off a good shot on target. In the 37th minute Patricia Lowry shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jean Henson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 40 played minutes Sellwood FC got a freekick which was hit by Cristopher Drake. Lane Summers sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. In the 46thth minute of the game Lane Summers who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sellwood FC's Lonnie Floyd was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Patricia Lowry made a kick off. Patricia Lowry hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Lane Summers managed to get in a good position for a shot. Conquest's supporters rose to their feet, but Lane Summers was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lonnie Floyd breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Lonnie Floyd showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lane Summers in the 54th minute of the match. Lane Summers fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lonnie Floyd having to interfere. Dwain Broussard fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jean Henson having to interfere. Lonnie Floyd didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Vaughn Wolf went, in the 97th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. The Conquest supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Conquest would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
