To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 9 minutes into the match, DOE FC's Válter Chaves sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Vincent Ladner narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 18th minute, Eugenio Croteau ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Kirk Lafond was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Marquis Frank might have been able to make a better finish in the 21st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Vincent Ladner. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Marquis Frank ran back to his position shaking his head. Marquis Frank sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Arlen Dixon lost his temper 28 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. After 64 played minutes DOE FC got a freekick which was hit by Guadalupe Ennis. Guadalupe Ennis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Vincent Ladner tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Guadalupe Ennis hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. Vincent Ladner took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mazinho Vasco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 75 minutes had been played when some careless play by Morrisburg Lions's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Tyler Bowser was slow to take the kick. During this time DOE FC's players had a chance to rest.
