Ildefonso Sibila was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 19th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Orlanda Piñero. Jaen Tortoles received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Arias Belorado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 48th minute Jaen Tortoles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arias Belorado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Lore Lueje to strike the kick off in the second half. Erasto Cepeda's late challenge caught a Rocha's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rocha's supporters crossed their fingers, but Silvano Sotolongo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Arias Belorado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rolando Almandoz, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. In the 77th minute, Silvano Sotolongo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ildefonso Sibila was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. Arias Belorado made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jaen Tortoles in the 84th minute. After a rather tough play, Rocha's Sebastiano Hordoñez got a free kick in the 85th minute. The Rocha fans cheered their team off the field, for while Canelones FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
