In the 39th minute, Joachim Lugo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 41 minutes into the match, Echevarria's goalkeeper Anibal Pliego had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Iratzeder Camats. Iratzeder Camats fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anibal Pliego having to interfere. Anibal Pliego didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 44th minute, which inside left pole to 1-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Zaquiel Montane to make the kick off.
