Franquia's Lico Bujia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fidele Izaga in the 11th minute of play. When Gotzon Baragaño fell near the penalty area in the 15th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Artilleros's protests and gave Gotzon Baragaño a yellow card for diving instead. In a very dangerous position, a player in Artilleros fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 14th minute. Penalty! The referee gave Franquia a penalty, 16 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Aurelio Estela, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Artilleros's Castel Aguilar. 1-0. Through an outstanding action, after 21 minutes, Castel Aguilar successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 24 minutes into the match, Franquia's goal looked a bit too open when Fidele Izaga came free, but Lico Bujia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lico Bujia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Segundo Giral, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. After having played for 40 minutes, Fidele Izaga managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Artilleros's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fidele Izaga was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Nicanor Sousa came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Artilleros fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nicanor Sousa couldn't finish the play. Segundo Giral received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Lico Bujia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
A collision led to Artilleros getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Nicanor Sousa hit a great ball. After recieving a nice pass, Franquia's Aurelio Estela tried to score from far away in the 53rd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. The supporters of Artilleros booed when Franquia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Karlos Roberto didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lico Bujia made a fantastic save in the 62nd minute, when Segundo Giral sent off a good shot on target. With a little luck, Franquia's Lico Bujia got control of the ball when Segundo Giral tried to sneak it across the goal line. Segundo Giral fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lico Bujia having to interfere. Cordarrell Baron's late challenge caught a Franquia's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cordarrell Baron helped the player get up and apologised. In the 68th minute, one of Artilleros:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Artilleros. In the 70th minute there was a penalty for Franquia. Aurelio Estela stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Castel Aguilar. 2-0. After a defensive mix-up in Artilleros's zone, Christovao Escapa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Castel Aguilar came out of the goal and Christovao Escapa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Heli Mostache came up free with the goalie in the 77th minute, the Franquia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Heli Mostache couldn't finish the play. In the 77th minute Heli Mostache shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Castel Aguilar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 82nd minute of the match, Teodosio Pascalin tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Lico Bujia saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. A collision led to Franquia getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Rioja Tejeda hit a great ball. Fidele Izaga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Zuriko Roig hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. In the 94th minute, Kaiet Beyso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Heli Mostache sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Franquia fans cheered their team off the field, for while Artilleros had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
