Josue Luzano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Patricio Mardones in the 12th minute of play. In the 15th minute of the match Leoncio Cerillo shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Elizardo Colina showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Claus Soltero in the 16th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Josue Luzano prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of Canitas booed when Uruguay FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Madaleno Barcenas didn't get a good kick on the ball. 19 minutes into the match, Uruguay FC's goal looked a bit too open when Claus Soltero came free, but Josue Luzano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 23 played minutes, Uruguay FC's Xamin Miquelarena shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Elizardo Colina came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Uruguay FC reached it. Patricio Mardones sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Juan Acebero could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 29th minute of the match, but Elizardo Colina made a huge save. After a defensive mix-up in Canitas's zone, Juan Acebero stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Elizardo Colina came out of the goal and Juan Acebero tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 32nd match minute, Canitas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Orlan Mallo to maneuver through the defense. Elizardo Colina took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aquiles Liendo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Uruguay FC's Adolfo Areces got a free kick in the 41st minute. Canitas's Elizardo Colina played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Juan Acebero in the 43rd minute of play. In the 43rd minute, Aloisio Deco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Juan Acebero received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Elizardo Colina tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 48 minutes of play, Uruguay FC's Aquiles Liendo made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Elizardo Colina was left in no man's land by his defense there! The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Aquiles Liendo was the one to do the kick off. The referee gave Uruguay FC a penalty, 65 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Xamin Miquelarena, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Canitas's Elizardo Colina. 2-0. Patricio Mardones fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Josue Luzano having to interfere.
