Rius Lavandera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abelardo Barzurqueta, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. If Iruinea Larren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 31 minutes, Virgilio Toral managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gardel FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Virgilio Toral was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 33 minutes into the game, Gardel FC's Ciro Merodo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Su Luina made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Ciro Merodo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Su Luina having to make a save. In the 38th minute, Virgilio Toral hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Libertad AFC's Abelardo Barzurqueta got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Libertad AFC booed when Gardel FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felo Rienda didn't get a good kick on the ball. Su Luina made a fantastic save in the 46th minute, when Ciro Merodo sent off a good shot on target.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Dionisio Hormilla to strike the kick off in the second half. Ciro Merodo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Su Luina read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 52nd minute of play. Dionisio Hormilla sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. But to his dismay, Iruinea Larren quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. Rius Lavandera didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Abelardo Barzurqueta went, in the 84th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-2 was the resulting score. Gardel FC's Rius Lavandera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dionisio Hormilla in the 87th minute of play. A hard shot 88 in the game by Abelardo Barzurqueta from a close distance when the talented Rius Lavandera managed to make a qualified save. Gardel FC's players were relieved.
