The tension between the Maldonado FC and the Libertad AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 19th match minute, Maldonado FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Presebal Torcida to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dionisio Hormilla in the 28th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jaen Aspurua saved Maldonado FC from getting behind. Fidel Villalobos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Su Luina having to interfere. Fidel Villalobos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Su Luina tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 37 minutes, Dionisio Hormilla mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Libertad AFC and the Maldonado FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Libertad AFC getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Dionisio Hormilla hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Fidel Villalobos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Maldonado FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Fidel Villalobos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Su Luina breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Dionisio Hormilla had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Fidel Villalobos to strike the kick off in the second half. Fidel Villalobos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Su Luina tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jaen Aspurua showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abelardo Barzurqueta in the 58th minute of the match. After 60 played minutes Fidel Villalobos rounded Libertad AFC's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-1. If Seme Echandi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Bahiano Bolaños fell near the penalty area in the 65th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Libertad AFC's protests and gave Bahiano Bolaños a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Libertad AFC getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Bahiano Bolaños hit a great ball. If Seme Echandi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dantae Nuño charged in rather forcefully in the 73rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dantae Nuño the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Maldonado FC booed when Libertad AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dantae Nuño didn't get a good kick on the ball. Su Luina made an important save on a dangerous shot by Seme Echandi in the 76th minute. After 84th play minutes Seme Echandi shot 1-2, a short shot which went by Su Luina and just under the crossbar into goal. Fidel Villalobos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Su Luina tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Libertad AFC's Su Luina played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Efren Uja in the 94th minute of play. 97 minutes into the match, Abelardo Barzurqueta notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Maldonado FC's Jaen Aspurua. Jaen Aspurua was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
