After 9 minutes, Azeari Amoros mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Melo and the Rivera FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. 8 minutes into the game, one of Melo:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. If Emanuel Reguero had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Hibai Cavia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Txanton Trillanes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 26 minutes into the game, Rivera FC's Hibai Cavia nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Txanton Trillanes made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. If Hibai Cavia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Emanuel Reguero fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Burni Pinilla having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Hibai Cavia to strike the kick off in the second half. Azeari Amoros kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. If Donio Bacon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Emanuel Reguero struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Burni Pinilla didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Melo. After 71 played minutes Melo got a freekick which was hit by Azeari Amoros. Burni Pinilla stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Donio Bacon's shot from short distance in the 75th minute. Zabal Carrio took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 81st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Burni Pinilla. Rivera FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Pello Somiedo during the 84th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Melo's Pello Somiedo got a free kick in the 84th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 88th minute, Donio Bacon managed to get in a good position for a shot. Melo's supporters rose to their feet, but Donio Bacon was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Burni Pinilla breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Cloyo Solana fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Txanton Trillanes having to interfere. Rivera FC's Cloyo Solana got a good chance for a goal in the 97th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Rivera FC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
