Frantzes Vuelta hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. When Rodney Carnero came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the C.A Peñarol fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rodney Carnero couldn't finish the play. If Indalecio Telego had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rodney Cornejo charged in rather forcefully in the 36th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rodney Cornejo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 40 minutes into the match, Campamento's goal looked a bit too open when Indalecio Telego came free, but Silviano Vasco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rodney Carnero received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Silviano Vasco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 44th minute of the game. One of Campamento:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of C.A Peñarol:s goal. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Telmo Villaciergo to strike the kick off in the second half. Rodney Carnero blasted a shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Silviano Vasco having to make a save. Rodney Carnero who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 58thth minute tested the skills of Silviano Vasco when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Rodney Carnero could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 61st minute of the match, but Silviano Vasco made a huge save. Rodney Carnero fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Silviano Vasco having to interfere. After having played for 72 minutes, Rodney Carnero managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. C.A Peñarol's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rodney Carnero was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 77 played minutes Indalecio Telego rounded Campamento's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-3. Rodney Carnero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Silviano Vasco was a little too slow when Indalecio Telego got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 92nd minute. The score was now 1-5. 96 minutes into the match, Rodney Carnero had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Silviano Vasco. Campamento's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rodney Carnero was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-6. C.A Peñarol's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
